Abstract

A large number of bronze beetles were observed in Damascus, Rural Damascus and Homs, Syria, from April to the end of May 2020. Bronze beetles were collected and brought to the laboratory. The different parts of body and male genitalia were dissected using small needles. Morphological and anatomical identification showed to be Amara (Acorius) metallescens (Zimmermann, 1831). (Coleoptera: Carabidae) (7-9 mm). This is the first record of this species in Syria.
