Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the relationship between parental acceptance/rejection as perceived by children and guilt among a sample of second year preparatory students in Damascus governorate, and to identify the level of guilt among the sample members ,and the significance of the differences among the research sample members on the scale of parental acceptance/rejection and guilt. According to the research variable:

 (sex), birth order, and family size. The researcher relied on the descriptive approach, and the research sample consisted of (100) male and female adolescents. The researcher applied the parental acceptance/rejection scale prepared by (Baali, Barakat, 2021) and the guilt scale from Prepared by (Shaboon, 2012). The research concluded the following results: the presence of an average level of guilt among the eighth grade students of basic education in the schools of the city of Damascus, the existence of a statistically significant correlation between parental refusal and the feeling of guilt among the members of the research sample, and the are statistically significant differences between the average scores of individuals The research sample on the parental acceptance/rejection scale according to the gender variable in favor for females, the are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the research sample individuals on the guilt scale according to the gender variable,
