Internet Addiction and its Relationship to Self-Efficacy among aSample of Homs University Students

and self-efficacy, the relationship between Internet addiction and self-efficacy in a sample of Homs University students, and to know the differences in Internet addiction and self-efficacy according to gender and academic year variables. analytical, and the sample consisted of (240) students of Homs University, and the Internet Addiction Scale and the Self-Efficacy Scale were used.
The results showed an average level of Internet addiction and a high level of self-efficacy among the research sample members, and there was a negative relationship between Internet addiction and self-efficacy. The research also found that there were statistically significant differences in Internet addiction according to the gender variable in favor of males, while there were no statistically significant differences in Internet addiction according to the school year variable, and there were statistically significant differences in self-efficacy according to the gender variable in favor of females and the school year variable in favor of the first year.
In light of these findings, the research offers some recommendations and suggestions, as follows:
- The need to conduct studies that examine internet addiction and its relationship to self-efficacy among university students, considering other variables.
- The need for educational institutions to interact with guidance offices to increase students' self-reactivity and raise their awareness of the risks of the internet on mental and physical health.
- Focus on male students and conduct awareness lectures on how to optimally use the internet, how to manage time, and its positive effects on their lives.
