Abstract

This study aims to know the role of public relations in mitigating the effects of the Corona virus at the level of personal communication among those in charge of the communication process in media institutions, by applying the local Al-Watan newspaper as a model. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach in the study was adopted by distributing a research questionnaire to all workers in the local newspaper in Syria, which number (35) workers, (32) questionnaires were recovered from which is valid for analysis with a recovery rate (91.4%), Data were collected and analyzed, hypotheses were tested using the SPSS statistical package for social sciences. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: There is a good application level for public relations in the local newspaper Al -Watan in Syria, There is an effect of covid-19 pandemic on the low level of personal communication in the local newspaper, Al -Watan,

The results of the study also showed the existence of a major role for public relations in alleviating the effects of Corona at the level of personal communication in the local Al -Watan newspaper in Syria, where public relations contribute to alleviating 93.2% of Corona's impact on personal communication.
