Abstract

This paper aims to know the impact of requirements of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction on construction techniques of residential buildings. In order to reach this aim, the types of Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction and it’s components was explored, the most prominent construction techniques used in this method of construction recently was found, in addition to the exploitation of construction techniques already used in Syria (2-D Panels), for construction of prefabricated buildings, and a comparison was made between the two methods. A local survey was done, in order to know the extensity of spread of this construction type in Syria, in regard of the execution or expertise scopes.

The residential buildings were chosen, because they are the most demanded type of buildings over the world in general, and in Syria in particular. Some important results were arrived to in regard of the limited use of this type in Syria, and the positive role that it may play, if it is widely used, especially with its new techniques.
