Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of instructional scaffolding strategy  in the  achievement of  ninth class of the basic stage    students in biology in the unit of '' Vital Functions in Human'' It also aimed at identifying the main difference between the experimental and control group in the immediate post-achievement test for Bloom's cognitive levels.

For achieving the purposes of the study, the researcher used the experimental study.

The study was carried out on a sample of (64) female students. It was distributed into two groups; the control group was (32) female students and the experimental group was also (32) female students. The researcher designed the instructional unit according to the instructional scaffolding strategy.

The findings of this research showed that:

  • There was a statistically significant mean score difference at the level of 0.05 between the average scores of female students in the control and experimental groups in the  immediate post-application of the achievement test, in favor of the experimental group.
  • There was a statistically significant mean score difference at the level of 0.05 between  the average scores of female students in the control and experimental groups in the  immediate post-application of the achievement test, in favor of the experimental group in Bloom's cognitive levels(remembering, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation .
