The Effect of the Interactive Electronic Book on the Development of the Third Grade Holy Quran Recitation Achievement and Skills

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of the interactive e- Book on the development of the third grade Holy Quran recitation achievement and skills

   in Jordan, and the impact of the student's gender and academic level.  The sample of the study consisted of (57), and were deliberately selected of third-grade students from Al-Tamayoz Academy Private School. Classes were divided into 2 groups; the first experimental group which consisted of (28) students, and the second control group which consisted of (29) students. The experimental group was taught using the electronic Quran supported by computer software, while the control group was taught using the conventional method. The teaching tools were the E-Quran, and pre-post  cognitive  achievement test which consisted of 20 Items. The  second tool was an observation card which consisted of 15 items. The validity and reliability of the tools were confirmed in scientific ways. The results showed a statistical significant differences in the cognitive test in favor of the experimental group which studied through the use of the E-Qur’an and there were no statistically significant differences in the skill achievement due to the method. And the results showed statistically significant differences attributable to the cumulative score in the cognitive test and in favor of those with a very good rate and above. The study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences due to the student's gender and the achievement level of the student on the skill test. In the light of the study results some recommendations were provided including: activation of e-books such as e-Qur’an in teaching, and promoting the employment of technology innovations and technologies and integrating them into the curriculum to move towards e-learning.
