Abstract

The current research aims to know the degree to which postgraduate students possess research skills at the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus and to know the requirements necessary to develop these skills. The Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus from the academic year (2020-2021), and according to the statistics of the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus, the number is (375) students. The research sample amounted to (190) male and female students, which were chosen by the simple random method. The research skills questionnaire was applied, after the psychometric characteristics were calculated for it, which was prepared by the researcher, and the results indicated that the degree to which graduate students at the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus possess research skills came to a high degree, and there are differences between graduate students in the degree of possession of research skills According to the variable of academic specialization, there are differences between graduate students in the degree to which they possess research skills according to the variable of the academic year in favor of students in the stage of completing the thesis, and one of the most important requirements for development was holding continuous training courses for graduate students to provide them with developments in their field of specialization, establishing a research advisory center in The College of Education offers its services to educational researchers.
