University and Sustainable Development from the viewpointof Kuwait University Staff Members"A field Study"

Abstract

This research aims at investigating the extent of practicing the sustai-nable development at the university from the viewpoint of Kuwait uni-versity staff members. The research also aims at investigating any statis-tically significant differences in the viewpoints of the staff members that might be attributed to gender, faculty, qualification, or experience variables. The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach to achieve these objectives.
A 34-item questionnaire was constructed and distributed to (180) staff members after making sure of its validity and reliability. The (SPSS17.0) was used to analyze the data and the hypotheses were tested at the level of significance (α= 0.05) using T- test and one-way ANOVA...It pointed out that the level of practicing the development at the university (from the viewpoint of staff members) is average in the various issues raised without exception. The study revealed no statistically significant diffe-rence between the mean scores of the staff members according to the gender variable. also, the study revealed no statistically significant diffe-rence between the mean scores of the staff members according to the faculty variable. Furthermore, the study revealed no statistically signifi-cant difference between the mean scores of the staff members accor-ding to the qualification variable. However, the study revealed a statisti-cally significant difference between the mean scores of the staff mem-bers according to the experience variable in favor of the (from 5 to 10 years). A number of suggestions were made, including further studies at this level, and invite officials to take advantage of the study's flaws.
