Abstract

The aim was to the research is to identify the degree of practicing supervisors of practical education of their roles in developing the performance of student teachers in the field of using school activities.        

A descriptive approach was undertaken by applying a designed questionnaire . consisting of  (26) items under three domains , including the most prominent practices of the supervisors of practical education, and after ensuring the validity and consistency of the questionnaire, it was applied on a purposeful sample of (63) supervisors for practical education. The specialization of the fourth-year class teacher student  in the Faculty of Education at Damascus University for the academic year 2019/2020. After performing the necessary statistical treatments, the research reached the following results:                                                                                             

- The degree of practice of the supervisors of practical education for their roles in developing the performance of student teachers in the field of using school activities ranged between very large, large and medium grades, while the supervisors did not have low marks regarding the content of the items  .                                                                                                             

- The existence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of supervisors' opinions in favour of  benefit of the supervisors of practical education with a doctorate degree, and those with experience (5 years and above) .                                                                                            

Based on the results of the research, the researcher made some important proposals related to the necessity of conducting evaluation studies for the practical education program, analyzing the different roles of the educational supervisor, and proposing similar research topics to the research dealt with the reality of the performance of the supervisors of practical education in the College of Education.
