Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the degree to which the teachers of the first cycle of basic education use the strategy of mental maps in teaching in the schools of Damascus Education, as well as to find out the differences between their responses according to the variables (gender, teaching experience).  To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher followed the descriptive approach, and used the questionnaire as a data collection tool, which consisted of (26) items.  Appropriate statistics The study showed the following results: The degree to which the teachers of the first cycle of basic education used the strategy of mental maps in teaching came with a weak rating, and the results of the study indicated that there were no statistically significant differences between the averages of the teachers’ responses due to the variable (sex), while the results indicated  The study revealed that there are statistically significant differences between the averages of teachers' responses due to the variable (experience in teaching), and in favor of experienced teachers (less than 5 years). In light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestions.
