The reality of support services for Students with Disabilities in inclusive university education "Faculty of Education at Damascus University as a model"

The research aimed to evaluate the reality of support services for students with Disabilities at the faculty of Education at Damascus University. The research adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, and to achieve its goal, a questionnaire was designed to assess the reality of support services from the perspective of students with Disabilities. It included (58) items distributed across four axes: (engineering support, administrative support, academic support, psychosocial support). The research sample included (20) male and female students with Disabilities at the faculty of Education at Damascus University. The results showed the following:
The reality of support services for students with Disabilities at the faculty of Education at Damascus University was at a (low) level, as the reality of support services in both the "engineering support" axis and the "administrative support" axis was at a (low) level, while the reality of support services in both the "academic support" axis and the "psychosocial support" axis was at a (moderate) level. The research results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the scores of the sample members attributed to each of the variables of gender, type of need, academic year, and academic specialization.
The research presented an interpretation of the results, along with some suggestions that may benefit decision makers regarding the merger policy at the Damascus university.
