The Role of Transformational Leadership in building the Learning Organization in Directorates of Local Administration in the Governorate of Damascus

The research aimed to study the impact of transformational leadership on building the learning organization, by addressing five basic dimensions of the learning organization (personal mastery- mental models- shared vision- collective learning- systems thinking). The researcher relied on the descriptive approach in the light of the studied population, which includes employees in the local administration directorates in Damascus Governorate, since it was relied on the comprehensive inventory method, a questionnaire was distributed to (180) employees and they were analyzed through the statistical program (SPSS-V.25). The study found a set of results, the most important of which are: there is a decrease in the level each of transformational leadership, personal mastery, mental models, and thinking systems in the studied directorates while there is an increase in the level of two dimensions; shared vision and collective learning increased, results also showed a significant effect of transformational leadership on building the learning organization, since it was found that adopting the transformational leadership style as one of the modern leadership styles contributes in building and developing the learning organization.
