The Role of Environmental Planning in Laying the Foundations for Preventive Environmental Protection

Abstract

The issue of environmental protection is the main concern of man as an individual as well as the society, whether at the international, regional or national levels, Thus, some mechanisms and tools have been used to face the accumulated environmental problems. These mechanisms include environmental planning which is one of the most important preventive methods to protect the environment because of its efficient role in facing environmental risks, preserving the environment resources and achieving sustainable development with various economic, social and environmental dimensions.

This study attempts to introduce environmental planning and its principles and the most important fields in which it is used, and to highlight its effectiveness as a preventive system for environmental protection. And to clarify and highlights the importance of environmental programs and policies to overcome contemporary environmental problems and achieve a safe and sustainable environmental future.
