Vocabulary selection criteria in series of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers

The research started from the problem that the vocabulary lists in the series teaching Arabic to non-native speakers follow different methods in the way vocabulary is explained.
The research relied on the descriptive approach, and worked on finding sub- determinants for each of: the type of vocabulary, its function, and the method of explaining it, to build a list of criteria.

- Matching the vocabulary lists with the content of the lesson requires that the vocabulary be appropriate for the language learner's level, fulfill the educational and communicative objectives of the lesson, and harmonize with the cultural content.
