Oratory is a linguistic art that depends essentially on expression and formulation. So we find the orators in the second Abbasid era, especially Ibn-Nubata, were interested in choosing sturdy vocabulary, and firm composition, with some little ornament.
This research studies the linguistic and stylistic structure in Alfariki' oratory, depending on expressionistic and functional stylistics, taking into consideration Abdull-Kaher Aljurgani's composition theory.
The research lead to the following results:
*When Alfariki mentions excitation, warning, declamatory, or denunciative meanings, he chooses the sturdy, and influential words; but when he mentions mercy, forgiving, advising, or praying, he chooses soft and calm words. This is called emotional context or situational context.
*word shifting is a significant sign that characterized the orations and gave its special wonder.
*Ibn-Nubata, like Al-Hasan Al-Basri, prefers the emotional style for craving and veneration, to effect in listeners' emotions.
*the orations have the two types of sentences, verbal and nominal, this causes an unexpected movement, which excites the attention of listeners.
*These orations imply a truthful praying between man and Allah, and we can say he is impressed by Al-tawhidi style in praying.
*He takes so many meanings from the Holy Koran, prophetic tradition, and proverbs: this indicates his ability to memorize of many texts, and his ability to imply these texts in his orations.
