Abstract

     The world witnessed fundamental changes and changes associated with the globalization of markets, the liberalization of trade restrictions and the increase in global competitiveness, which cast a shadow on the change in production methods and patterns of its distribution, and opened the door wide to commodity and capital flows, which constituted a major challenge that faced the opportunities for economic development in all countries of the world, as a result of falling under The global competitiveness and the rapid developments in information technology, telecommunications, which necessitated the shift to new development strategies, creating an enabling and supportive economic environment to improve the competitive and functional performance of production, and accelerate the pace of growth

   The industrial clusters are one of the most important modern strategies that have received great attention from countries that have been pioneering in enhancing their competitive performance and raising the efficiency of their economic development. As an effective tool in enhancing the productive and competitive capabilities of productive institutions, and supporting their ability to activate economic interdependence and interdependence at the local and regional levels. As the advantages of industrial clusters include enhancing the effectiveness of specialization and the geographical division of labor, and reducing exchange expenditures during production stages, which leads to lower production expenditures and raising the competitive advantages of products, contributing to the focus of technical, human and technological expertise, and developing the infrastructure for social production services.

 

  This research aimed to highlight the importance of industrial clusters as a catalyst for spatial development, which targets the optimal investment of conditions and resources of human economic nature, within a framework of interaction and complementarity between the economic elements consisting of the place, starting from sound scientific planning, working to integrate the spatial dimension in economic analysis, As one of the important variables in planning sites for settling economic activities in general, and industrial clusters in particular, a cluster analysis method has been used that enables the selection and classification of sites with common elements and characteristics, as areas with a heavy concentration of these elements.
