Background & Aim: Although breast surgery techniques advanced significantly in the last century. Mastopexy still presents great challenges to the plastic surgeon. Several techniques have evolved over the last two decades. We present our modified technique.
Methods and Materials: 32 patients (64 breasts) underwent Mastopexy operation, recruiting the lower pole dermo-glandular flap. The flap was advanced upwards to achieve specific goals in Mastopexy operation. We highlighted our modifications to the technique. We looked at our results and assessed them from aesthetics side and from rate and types of complications.
Results: All cases but one achieved the aesthetic goals. Two patients had four types of complications. All patients but one were satisfied.
Conclusions: Mastopexy operation, by recruiting a shield shaped lower pole dermoglandular flap, as an upwards advanced flap is a safe reliable procedure and could achieve the results we aim at.
