Abstract

The research aims to define the role of technical and intellectual expertise in the construction of a design according to the function of visual perception which is concerned with influencing the behavior of human when they are communicated through graphic semiotics used in graphic design, as the shape composed of visual vocabulary, such as lines, points, color and shades of shadow and light, has a multiple presence. It is a materialistic building and composition. Similarly, it indicates a meaning and an idea. It introduces visual rhythms issued by a sequential arrangement of lines and colors to the viewer's eye.  The meaning or intellectual content of a design is formed by such sequence of vocabulary that functions as a visual incitement.

The organization of such vocabulary helps to understand the design idea and the goals of the artist producing the work. In other word, the design function should be expressive and of a clear meaning.

Therefore, the research problem lies in the problematic of formulation of graphic semiotics and recognition of their meanings in a design.

The importance the research lies in that it is considered as one of the specialist academic topics in accordance with the experimental descriptive method. The aim of the research is to reveal and clarify the role of signs, experience idea and meaning in the building of a graphic design.
