Abstract

This research aimed to determine the availability of basic science processes in Science book for sixth grade in Syrian Arab Republic. To achieve this goal, the researcher adopted the descriptive method and prepared a list of basic science processes, based on the lists of (ASE) & (AAAS), this list, in finally, consisted of (8) processes and (38) indicators to these processes. the researcher designed a content analysis tool which is a content analysis card to analyze the research sample consisting of Science book for the sixth grade and checked the validity and reliability. The results showed a complete availability of  basic science processes in the science book for sixth grade, however, it was received in unconsidered proportions, where the processes of communicating, observing  and inferring overshadowed the rest of the basic science processes. The researcher has, therefore, introduced some recommendations.
