Gratitude And its Relationship To life Satisfaction Among University Students

Abstract

The study aimed at investigating the relationship between gratitude and life satisfaction among university students, in addition to identifying the differences in gratitude and life satisfaction according to gender and age, and amount of contribution of gratitude of prediction of life satisfaction. The study was carried out on a sample of (168) student of postgraduate students at Nizwa University, including (102) males and (66) females. The study tools consist of Gratitude Test (Thomas &Watkins,  2003)translated and prepared by the researcher and life satisfaction Scale which was prepared by Aldosouky, (1998). In order to answer the study questions, the correlation coefficients, T Test, One-Way Anova and Linear regression analysis were used. The results revealed that there were positive significant relationships between gratitude (and its subcomponents), and life satisfaction(and its subcomponents), and absence of significant differences in gratitude, and life satisfaction according to gender, and age, and gratitude were significant predictor forlife satisfaction.
