Locus of Control and its relationship to perceived self-efficacy among a sample of Damascus University students / Daraa branch

The aim of the research is to identify the relationship between the locus of control and perceived self-efficacy among a sample of students of Damascus University / Daraa branch, and to reveal the differences between the individuals of the research sample in the locus of control and perceived self-efficacy according to the gender variable. Two basic scales were used: (the Rotter scale of internal and external control, and the scale of the general perceived self-efficacy of Jerusalem and Schwarzer (Jerusalem & Schwarzer, 1995)), and the research adopted the descriptive approach, and the research was applied to a sample of (220) male and female students from Damascus University, Daraa branch Of them, (111) females and (109) males. Among the most important results of the research: There is a statistically significant relationship between the scale of the locus of control and the scale of perceived self-efficacy. There are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the research sample members on the scale and the point of control according to the gender variable in favor of male students. And on the perceived self-efficacy scale according to the gender variable in favor of male students. And the levels of locus of control and perceived self-efficacy were generally high among the members of the research sample.
