The Effectiveness of an Early Intervention Program in Improving Linguistic Development in a Sample of Linguistically Late Pre-school Children

Abstract

This research aimed at finding out the effectiveness of an early intervention program in improving the linguistic development of a sample of linguistically late children in the pre-school. The research sample consisted of (12) children of linguistically late children, who were randomly divided into two equal groups: an experimental group and a control group that included each (6) children. The ages ranged between (3.5-6) ​​years. The following tools were used (the man drawing test prepared by Jodan Harris, the measure of the socio-cultural level of the family, the preparation of Al-Hawarneh (2008), and the language scale prepared by Ali (2010), and the early intervention program (prepared by the researcher). The research reached the following results:

1- There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average ranks levels of the experimental members group and the mean ranks of the control group members on the language scale after applying the early intervention program in favor of the members of the experimental group.

2- There were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average ranks levels of the experimental members group before applying the early intervention program and the average ranks of their grades after applying the program on the language scale in favor of the post-measurement.

3- There were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average ranks levels of the experimental members group in the post measurement, and the average ranks levels of their grades in the postponed measurement on the language scale.
