The quality of family life and its relationship to the level of social adjustment among students of general secondary education in the city of Damascus (the second grade of secondary school as a model)

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the level of quality of family life and the level of social adjustment among a sample of students in the second year of general secondary school in the schools of the governorate of Damascus. And the differences between the average scores of the answers of the research sample members on the scale of family quality of life and on the scale of social adjustment according to the two variables: (sex, and the economic level of the family). The descriptive analytical approach was relied on, and the research sample amounted to (777) male and female students from the second year of general secondary school in the schools of the Governorate of Damascus, with a representation rate of (2%) of the original community. The research tools were applied from Sunday (4/4/2021 AD) ) to Thursday (22/4/2021 AD), and the scale of the quality of family life, and the scale of social compatibility were used. Among the most prominent findings of the research: There is a positive, statistically significant correlation between the family quality of life scale and their scores on the social adjustment scale. And there were no statistically significant differences on the scale of family quality of life and the scale of social adjustment according to the variable of sex, and the presence of statistical differences on the scale of family quality of life and on the scale of social adjustment according to the variable of the economic level of the family in favor of families with a good economic level.
