The Impact Of Social Media On Children's Personality And Language From The Perspective Of Teachers In Damascus.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the impact of social media on children's personality and language from the perspective of female teachers in Damascus. Using a descriptive and analytical approach, the research sample consisted of (94) female teachers from public and private kindergartens, who were selected using a simple random method (12.87%) in Damascus for the academic year 2023/2024 AD, and the researcher used for research purposes a questionnaire consisting of (42) items distributed over three axes, which are (motives, positives, negatives) after verifying their validity and reliability, and the study reached the following results: The axis that most affects the child’s personality and language is: the negatives of using social media (2.70), followed by the motives resulting from using social media (2.50) The positive effects of using social media ranked last with a high score (2.35). No statistically significant differences were found due to the kindergarten's affiliation (public/private), training courses, or educational qualifications. However, there was a statistically significant difference due to the years of experience variable, in favor of those with more years of experience.
