The aim of the current research is to reveal the nature of the relationship between the two dimensions of anxiety (state and trait) and psychological
well-being in a sample of university students. The descriptive analytical approach was followed, and the sample consisted of (310) students from the University of Homs. The two dimensions of anxiety (state and trait) scale prepared by Spielberger and the psychological well-being scale of Ryff were used.
The results showed a moderate degree of anxiety (as a trait and as a state) and a moderate degree of psychological well-being among the research sample. There was an inverse relationship between anxiety and psychological well-being. The study also found no statistically significant differences in anxiety dimensions according to gender and university major. Furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences in psychological well-being according to gender and university major.
In light of this, the researchers presented a set of recommendations and proposals.
