The impact of using the financial perspective of balanced scorecard in strengthening the competitive position of banks "A comparative study between conventional banks and Islamic banks listed on the Damascus Stock Exchange"

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the extent of using the financial perspective of BSC in the conventional and Islamic banks listed on the Damascus Stock Exchange and to reveal the most important financial metrics actually used by these banks, in order to evaluate the strategic competitive position.

The study will highlight the effect of using the financial perspective of BSC (in strengthening the competitive position, and the comparison between conventional and Islamic banks. The study has been applied upon conventional banks and Islamic banks listed on the DSE. The sample consists of executive managers, branch managers, and other managers.

The study found a set of results that the banks use the performance standards measuring financial. The study also came up with a set of recommendations including: the need for the conventional and Islamic banks listed on the DSE to use the financial perspective of BSC in an integrated manner.
