Abstract

Minorities are a religious, racial, linguistic, national, or ethnic group, whose rights have been subjected to many violations, especially in light of the increase in non-international armed conflicts, and the accompanying violation of human rights in general and minorities in particular, as this category has suffered from metaphor, Genocide, forced displacement, and ethnic, religious, and linguistic cleansing, among others, in many countries.

The international law of minorities has legislated a set of oversight mechanisms that operate under the supervision of the United Nations, and there are punitive mechanisms practiced by the competent agencies, to prevent all acts of racial discrimination, and prevent torture, and all forms of cruel and inhuman treatment. Also, an international criminal justice system has been created to punish and prosecute the perpetrators of international crimes against minorities, With all of these mechanisms, but they were not sufficient to provide the necessary protection for minorities, in light of the persecution witnessed by this group in many countries
