Abstract

After the technological revolution penetrated all aspects of individuals' life, the privacy of individuals has become vulnerable to abuse, and it became easy to view and manipulation personal data and individuals' secrets. Therefore, legislations seek to enshrine the right to protect personal data, and to make personal data free of any violations that may occur at present or in the future. Thus, the current research deals with International, European and internal efforts to protect fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons, which is their right to protect personal data. To achieve a sense of safety and tranquility in a society, where the use of information technology is indispensable. The study showed that the Syrian legislations are unable to protect personal data from the impact of informatics, and called for the need to enact strict and direct legal rules that define this right and oblige all individuals and entities to respect it.
