The research aims to differentiate between emotion and feeling, and therefore the focus was on dealing with the philosophy of "Antonio Damasio", especially as it deals accurately with the distinction between the two things, on the basis of the findings of the neurosciences. For Damasio, emotion is the basis for feeling, which is a higher goal that should be reached, based on his rule that "I feel, therefore I exist," which came as a criticism of Descartes' saying, "I think, therefore I exist."
Damasio is a neuroscientist and philosopher who took a different approach in neuroscience by emphasizing the importance of emotions in building the human brain and the higher mental faculties represented in thinking, awareness, decision-making, intelligence and other mental processes, through his explanation of how emotions arise and the study of the structure of the human brain Referring to the activity observed in different parts of the brain, the brain was divided accordingly into regions; So that each region in it is responsible for a mental process, and the results reached by Damasio
were either rejected or accepted, and this is what we will discuss in the context of this research.
The aim of this research is to show the importance of emotions in building a healthy person capable of thinking and making sound decisions; And that through the study presented by Damasio in the field of neuroscience.
