Abstract

    The main objective of the current research is to know the impact of the CORONA Virus (Covid-19)  pandemic on the psychological, health, economic and social relations of the elderly, as well as its relationship to violence towards them.

An appropriate methodology for the research objective, the analytical descriptive approach and sample-style social survey, The interview questionnaire also used a basic field data collection tool. The original research community is consisted  of elderly (males and females) who were infected with the emerging epidemic of CORONA Virus (Covid-19) during the period of the diseases spread. The sample size was (400) male and female, including: 200 males and 200 females. Specific sample units were  taken according to the intentional method specifically the snowball sample (the mesh sample) as a type of intentional sample.

Based on statistical analysis of the data conducted through the Statistical Programme (SPSS) by adopting percentages. A number of results were found to indicate the negative impact of infection with the emerging Corona Virus on the psychological, and also on their health, whether during the illness or after recovery from it. The social relations of the elderly decreased also during the period of illness. While the results showed that the infection with Corona Virus did not negatively affect the standard of living of the elderly. The results indicated that the majority of the elderly were not exposed to violence during the period of their illness.
