Libraries of Tishreen University faculties in light of Arab and international quality standards: a field study

This study mainly aimed to study the reality of Tishreen University libraries in light of the most important quality standards adopted by the American Colleges and Research Libraries Association ACRL and the Unified Arab Standard for Academic Libraries, in order to identify the shortcomings in the application of these standards, and to shed light on the most important difficulties that limit the process of their application. The researcher relied on the field approach in his study, and the results of the study showed that the application of the libraries of Tishreen University faculties to Arab and international quality standards was at an average level, and the lack of financial resources was in the first place in relation to the difficulties that limit the application of quality standards, While came in second place “the lack of sufficient support from the senior management” and “the absence of
effective management of human resources in the administrative and technical apparatus of libraries” , and the study recommended the need to restructure the libraries of Tishreen University in proportion to the Quality standards for libraries by providing information technology infrastructure, and conducting training workshops in the field of quality for workers in Tishreen University libraries in cooperation and coordination between the Quality Center and the Central Library, which will develop performance and achieve efficiency in providing services.
