Syrian youths' motives actions of traditional mass media use-a survey studyAbstract
The aim of the researcher in this study is to identify the motives for Syrian youths' use of traditional media, specifically radio and television, at a time when most of them use digital media and communication, and the study relied on the survey method, using a field survey form, and by applying it to an available sample of these young people. It reached (204) single, and the researcher concluded that television is still enjoying a high exposure volume, and that the most important advantage is ease of use. As for the radio, the volume of listening to it is mostly low, and the most important advantage of it is the cheapness of the cost of use. The motive (to be entertained with the introduction to the contents: movies, series, ...), which is one of the ritual motives, came at the forefront of the motives for exposure to television, just as the motive (to get rid of routine and boredom) came at the forefront of the motives for listening to the radio, which is also ritualistic. The activity (choose the contents that interests me) came at the head of the activities carried out by the members of the study sample of Syrian youth.
