Jean Baudrillard and the problem of Super Reality

Abstract

Modern civilization has seen a tremendous development in technology with its impact on man and society, especially in increasing the individual's dependence on machines and his attempt to control the world through them in order to supplement his shortage of abilities and capacities to achieve harmony between him, nature and society.

But the increase in progress and technological development increased man's sense of inadequacy, anxiety, pessimism and impotence towards machines, as he sees how these machines have exceeded his mental abilities and have provided maximum comfort and luxury not easy to ignore; yet they have imposed on man great pressures and major challenges, on top of which is eliminating the actual reality to replace it with another reality. Therefore, the philosophical conceptions and the theories of knowledge have differed in their approach to the concept of truth and reality, especially Baudrillard's analysis. Today, the idea of truth is no longer identical to the thought of reality, nor is it in a paradoxical world, The reality that is increasingly proving itself in this contemporary world is the reality of the virtual world.

This research discusses the danger of virtual reality in influencing the values and principles of individuals, and the absence of actual reality. The effects of virtual reality have to be criticized and addressed to clarify its advantages and disadvantages and its impact on individual values.
