The Oweinat River Basin is a hydrological basin of the Al Kabeer Al Shamali River Basin in the Syrian Coast Basin The basin’s climate is characterized by moderate rainy winters and hot dry summers.
The research problem was manifested in the water wastage in the Owainat River Basin, which resulted from the absence of any water facility (dam or water dams) in the basin, and the average volume of water wastage in the basin was ( ).
The aim of the research is to determine the criteria of river flow during the hydrological year in the basin, through the application of many necessary mathematical relationships, where the average volume of rainfall amounted to (194 ) and the rate of volume of evaporation (100 ) , The volume of the water inflow in the basin was determined and amounted to (94 ), of which (27 ) the volume of surface runoff, and it constitutes (28.7%) of the volume of the water intake, and (67 ) an average volume of Renewable groundwater, which constitutes (71.3%) of the volume of water resources.
The maximum flow rate in the basin ranged from (0.38 ) to (11.69 ), and the minimum flow rate in the basin ranged from (0.005 ) to (0.42 ). The typical monthly distribution of flow showed
the concentration of the lowest monthly rate of flow in the basin in May, and the concentration of the highest monthly rate of flow in the basin in January.
