This paper examines the Oedipus tragedy, according to Jacques Lacan. Freud read Oedipus according to gender, while Lacan read Oedipus as a linguistic problem. Oedipus is a victim because he does not know his real name.
Oedipus is a false identity, and an unreal father, and accordingly the family structure was not set in accordance with reality. And The child does not desire his mother's body because of sex, but rather wants to return to the field of the real, to the womb, to fullness.
