Parallelism is a form of grammatical system that divides grammatical space into paragraphs that are similar in length, tone and grammatical structure.
The Parallelism appeared clearly in the letters of Abu Ishaq al-Sabi, and this phenomenon had not been studied in his prose previously, so the researcher decided to address it with research and study, because of its aesthetic, rhetorical, and semantic advantage, and because of the coherence and harmony it creates, due to the combination of words, their harmony, and their
compatibility. In phonetic relationships that are inseparable from semantic and grammatical relationships.
The researcher studied formal parallelism and semantic parallelism. He did not neglect to talk about parallelism through repetition. He also studied the functions of parallelism in Al-Sabi’s letters, and reached a set of results, the most important of which are:
- Abu Ishaq is able to generate phrases and vocabulary that are similar in structure, structure, and grammatical form, to express the meanings he wants.
- Al-Sabi showed ingenuity in choosing the format appropriate to the requirements of the required formal and semantic rhythm, by coordinating homologs and antonyms. These contrasts enriched the rhythm and raised the degree of expectation among the recipient.
- Among the functions of (parallelism) in Al-Sabi’s letters: the confirmatory function, the attentional or influencing function, the referential function, the communicative function, and the aesthetic or poetic function.
