Abstract

The inhabitants of Mesopotamia knew the preparation of many dishes and mastered the ways of cooking and serving them, and many recipes were found that are considered the oldest in the world. The importance of this research lies in the fact that it presents an important aspect of civilization in Mesopotamia, where the field of food is one of the most important pillars of cultures, and it addresses the tastes, tendencies and ideas of the population of that era regarding food and reflects the social and economic structure of society. It explains the differences between the rich and poor classes. The research dealt with the importance of food, methods of its preparation, and the customs and rituals of eating in Mesopotamia. And the most important agricultural and animal food products that they found. The research also dealt with the most important meals they ate and methods of preparation, in addition to the drinks and desserts they made.
