Abstract

In recent years, the development of the tourism industry in both developed and developing countries has flourished as one of the important sectors contributing to economic growth. This is reflected in the availability of jobs, the increase in national income and the attraction of hard currency. As a result, Syria is paying great attention to the tourism sector and this is reflected in the efforts exerted to develop this sector and as an attempt to exploit its cultural heritage resulting from the legacy of many civilizations in Syria from

archeological finds. Historical achievements.

In this paper we will attempt to answer the following problem: How does cultural heritage contribute to the development of cultural tourism? This will be done by trying to highlight the reality of the cultural heritage in Syria and its role in standing up for cultural tourism by focusing on archaeological discoveries and tourism of historical monuments and museums, and their role in developing cultural tourism. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which is that cultural heritage plays an important role in pushing cultural tourism to safety this is by providing cultural heritage as one of the most .
