The Persian Sasanian and Byzantine civilizations inherited the cultural legacies of their ancestors, so they left what did not suit them, took what suits them, developed it, and added to it until they reached a cultural prosperity that was rarely matched. These two civilizations also cast their shadows on those that came after them, such as the Arab-Islamic civilization, which influenced and was influenced by them in most fields, except that This research was limited to demonstrating that impact in the military field only.
This research contains an introductory introduction to its content, followed by an explain to the concept of civilization and its origins, then a review of the most important reasons to the friction of the Arab Islamic state with the Sasanian Persian state and the Byzantine Empire. This was followed by an explanation of what the Islamic civilization had borrowed from the civilization of these two ancient states in the military field through five items.
