Abstract

The first Christians were subjected to religious persecution at an early age by the emperors of the Roman Empire ,as it began from the first century until the fourth century until the fourth century AD ,and ended in the year 313 AD with the conversion of Constantine the Great to Christianity and made it an official religion of the state ,as it was considered a turning point in the history of Christianity

With the division of the Roman Empire ,the Byzantines inherited the conflict with the Sasanian Persians ,and a religious dimension was added to the wars between them after the introduction of the Byzantines into   Christianity and the spread of Christianity in Persia ,Armenia and others neighboring regions would make all of these Christians  sympathize with the Byzantine emperor who recognized Christians which would threaten the Persian throne and the Persian state The same Zoroastrian doctrine ,so a series of persecutions prevailed against the Christians of Persia ,and the strategic material conflict between Byzantium and Persia turned into an ideological character represented by the conflict between Christianity and Zoroastrianism ,so they fought long wars throughout the fourth and fifth century AD .
