Abstract

Healing architecture is one of the latest architectural trends in the design of health care buildings, which is based on the relation between

architecture and human health, and refers to architecture that aims basically

to design health facilities for patients so that the architectural approach positively affects their treatment by designing healing spaces according to a set of environmental factors that interact with patients. The surrounding environment and its components act as healing elements that contribute to raising the efficiency of the performance of health buildings and facilitating the journey of healing and recovery at all levels by improving health and providing spaces and conditions that can enhance the recovery of patients. This paper first discovers the concept of recovery, curing and healing, and the constructs of healing, then reviews the concept of healing architecture and the role of Evidence-based design in determining the design factors of the Optimal Healing Environment. After that, reference is made to the design factors applied in some health buildings from the perspective of healing architecture. The research concludes with a set of results and recommendations.
