The extent of students’ knowledge of cyber security at the Faculty of Education at Damascus University- A field study on Eritrea by the students of the classroom teacher

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the extent of knowledge of the classroom teacher students at the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus with cybersecurity and the impact of the variables of gender, academic year, their ownership of a computer, and their following computer courses in this regard. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method, and the researcher applied a questionnaire consisting of (30) items to a sample of (362) male and female students who were classroom teachers at the College of Education at the University of Damascus in the Syrian Arab Republic. The results of the research showed that the degree of familiarity of the students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Damascus with the concepts of cybersecurity was average. It also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the students’ responses to the research tool regarding the extent of their familiarity with cybersecurity due to the academic year and the extent to which they own a computer and follow computer courses, while the results showed There are statistically significant differences in the research sample’s responses to the research tool regarding the extent of their knowledge of cybersecurity due to gender.
