The objective of this study was to find out the impact of the physical work environment on its various dimensions (architectural design and interior design) in the performance of the employees of the Syrian Private University before moving to and after the temporary university center.
The researcher used the analytical descriptive method, and the questionnaire was based on obtaining the necessary data. The researcher used the comprehensive method of enumeration. The questionnaire was distributed to all the administrative staff at the university. The total number of workers was 85, 73 (85.88%) were retrieved. The questionnaire included (75) items in addition to demographic information distributed by the researcher On five levels ranging from strongly agreed to strongly disagreeable, and then analyzed using the "Social Science Statistics Group (SPSS)".
The most important results were: a change in the architectural design and interior design within the Syrian Private University after the move to the temporary headquarters compared to the previous ones. The architectural design was much better than the distance, the artificial lighting, colors and plants, security and safety in the old place is much better than the new place. They are acceptable than they were in the past. The study also showed
a decline in the performance of workers after the transition to temporary headquarters compared to the previous, but this decrease was not significant, and the study did not find the impact of the physical work environment in the performance of employees before moving to the temporary center. The impact of the physical work environment on the performance of workers after moving to temporary headquarters has also been found. The architectural design changes have a negative effect on the performance of the workers in a negative and weak manner.
The study recommended working to provide adequate offices for workers to feel more comfortable in work and maintain the required distances between them in a way that does not make the worker disrupt or disturb others and provide computers and office equipment and stationery sufficient for staff and adequate storage. It also recommended the provision of meeting rooms, a sufficient number of bathroom, and the creation of a place for food, rest and smoking to be used during the rest of the staff and places of leisure activities during the holidays and vacations , in addition to making the necessary modifications within the temporary premises to ensure the mobility of people with special needs of workers from During the establishment of the ramps, and the establishment of their own bathrooms.
