Abstract

The importance of studying the foreign policy of any country stems from the fact that it demonstrates the power of the state and its influence on the international and regional arena, and this foreign policy is subject to the extent of the ability of its maker to formulate it in an effective, effective and flexible manner and is capable of achieving the state’s goals and interests because it is subject to the givens of time and place, corruptions and interests, and it is like someone walking through a minefield without To be exposed to harm, after President Bashar al-Assad assumed power in Syria in 2000, he worked to bring about a qualitative shift in Syrian foreign policy capable of responding to internal, international and regional changes and interacting with them, relying on change and adaptation in its policy towards its regional and international environment. He worked to develop Syria’s foreign relations. With its regional and international surroundings by activating economic and political agreements and giving a greater role to the Arab League and Arab solidarity while emphasizing national constants and adopting calm and rationality and staying away from reactions and lack of emotion, Al-Assad has an integrated political and economic project and has a strategic vision capable of confronting the changes that have occurred in the regional environment. and international affairs in order to preserve Syria’s distinguished role in its Arab and regional surroundings. The most important feature of Syrian foreign policy is confronting negative phenomena in international relations and American hegemony in the world, which has cost it a lot, and emphasizing constants and national interest.
