Abstract

Sino-African relations witnessed a great development after the declaration of the establishment of the People's Republic of China in 1949. If ideology represented the main engine of relations between the two parties during that period, the economic changes that China witnessed following the policy of economic openness and the economic policies that followed, constituted an important factor in pushing those relations common interests, according to new foundations based on mutual interests. If the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, which was established in 2000, is the organizing framework for these relations, and the basis for their development and expansion of their fields, then Chinese projects and investments in the African continent within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative will make the African continent a fundamental pillar of China's economic strategy for the current millennium.
