Abstract

Seismic Attributes are one of the latest scientific methods that have developed during the past three decades from a complex seismic effect to a complete seismic cube. This study included the creation of maps of seismic features (Dip, Azimuth, Dip and Azimuth” Artificial Illumination Map”, Edge enhancement and curvature) all through mathematical relationships based on geometry and physical properties of the subsurface layers.

These properties were applied to the Sijan field in the Euphrates depression, where the results enabled us to understand the studied field in terms of sedimentation and tectonics, by interpreting the maps of seismic Attributes that gave a clear picture of the tectonic movements in the region and their impact on the sedimentation processes of the upper Triassic and Lower Cretaceous formations in addition to identifying a number of important faults closures that constitute our hydrocarbon traps .
