University Students' Attitudes Towards the Bigo Live Application: A Field Study on Sociology Department Students at Damascus University

The current research aims to know the attitudes of university youth towards the use of the Bigo Live application, and the motives for its use, in addition to trying to understand the relationship between the use of the Bigo Live application and the lack of realistic social communication. To achieve the goal, the analytical descriptive method was used using the social survey using the sample method, and a simple random sample consisting of one hundred and eighty university students from the Department of Sociology at the University of Damascus was drawn, where questionnaire papers were distributed to them to find out their attitudes, and then these questionnaires were analyzed to extract results C, using the spss program and using the appropriate relationships. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are:
- There are statistically significant differences between the average attitudes of the research sample individuals towards using the application according to the gender variable in favor of the higher average (females).
- There are no statistically significant differences between the average attitudes of the research sample individuals towards using the application due to the education system variable.
- There are no statistically significant differences between the average attitudes of the research sample towards using the application and their academic status.
- There are no statistically significant differences between the average attitudes of the research sample individuals towards using the application and their nationality.
- There is a correlation between the average use of the research sample by the application of Bigo Live and distancing from realistic social communication.
The study concluded by presenting a set of scientific proposals.
