Abstract

The large population increase in the city of Hama resulted in urban expansion, and an increase in the area occupied by the city at the expense of the nearby areas, and what worsened the political situation, This expansion occurred in the absence of planning, which had negative effects on the environment, population, economy and construction alike. After the orchards of the city of Hama were the lung from which the city breathes and the base from which it obtains its food, it has become suffering from desertification of agricultural lands, decreasing surface and ground water resources, and a decline.

And random housing is one of the most important problems facing the Syrian government, and it has gone on for many years without a solution, which led to neglect in a large number of violating communities, as their number reached 1.2 million random housing until 2018, which needs about 1200 billion Syrian pounds. It lacks streets, parks, public service buildings and architectural features.

Unplanned housing has surrounded major cities, with an area of ​​1430 hectares in Hama, and a significant proportion of the Syrian population resides in slum areas. The random housing contributed to increasing the supply and securing (65%) of the housing in the city of Hama and (50%) at the country level, and the percentage of violations reached (36%) of the residents of the city of Hama for the year 2020
