The problem of identity whith Ali Harb

Abstract

Postmodern studies are characterized by a distinguished methodology in addressing intellectual issues and concepts,and these analyzes contributed to enriching Arab thought with studies and analyzes that opened the horizon and expanded the capabilities after the intellectual sterility that afflicted Arab intellectual projects ,and the state of intellectual sterility in creating a breach in the Arab intellectual structure.

The works of Ali Harb (1941-) contributed to the disturbance of the structures and foundations of the Arab discourse and the criticism of the totalitarian

discourses, the grand narratives and the ideological projects, and (the problem of identity) was at the center of these studies. This research aspires to reveal the reality of identity and its transformations and the defects that impede its vitality and flexibility, so that we can conclude to talk about the complex identity as a model for postmodern identities.
